Turbo-Flo™ Valve Technology

Wilden® Turbo-Flo™ Air Distribution System (ADS) for Air-Operated Double-Diaphragm (AODD) Pumps - Robust and Easy to Maintain

Famous for its long life and easy serviceability, the durable Wilden® Turbo-Flo™ Air Distribution System (ADS) is the ADS that originated with the Air-Operated Double-Diaphragm (AODD) Pump industry. Operating on differential pressure only, there are no mechanical trip rods, bearings or springs to wear or repair, making it an easy-to-maintain, cost-effective, economical ADS solution for use with AODD pumps.

Portable and available in a single-point exhaust option for submersible applications, the Turbo-Flo excels in utilitarian-type applications, such as the transfer of water, slurry or any finely divided substance like cement.

The Turbo-Flo is ideal for a wide variety of industrial applications, such as:

  • Chemical
  • Paint & Coatings
  • Mining
  • Oil & Gas
  • Water & Wastewater
  • Liquid Terminals
  • Process
  • Semiconductor
  • Food & Beverage
  • Pharmaceutical

When repairing or maintaining Wilden Air Distribution Systems (ADS), always use only authentic Wilden Air Kits to maintain optimal performance and preserve Wilden factory warranties.

This new Air Kit for Turbo-Flo contain a reduced number of parts. They include the air valve assembly but eliminate the muffler plate. All Air Kits are vacuum-sealed to maintain parts integrity and cleanliness. See the Repair Kits Page for more information.

How It Works

The Turbo-Flo’s externally serviceable metal air valve body is attached to a center block that houses specialized Glyd™ ring seals.

  1. The air valve piston within the air valve body routes the air supply to one of two air chambers as dictated by its position.
  2. As the air chamber fills with air, the diaphragm is displaced, thus pulling the connecting shaft and opposite diaphragm toward the center block.
  3. As the shaft moves, slots on the shaft break a seal created by the center block’s Glyd rings.
  4. The repositioning of the air valve spool routes the air to the other air chamber.

Air valve tolerances allow for the passage of some moisture and air-line particulates, permitting free movement of the air valve.

The Turbo-Flo ADS is utilized on the following Wilden pumps:
